2004


Twelve schools and three recycling officers are honoured each year in the UK Awards.

The UK recycling organisers’ prizes are awarded to those local authorities that collect the most directories per pupil; calculated as the total number of directories collected in your area divided by the total number of pupils in your Challenge.

The 2004 winners were:

UK Gold OakSarah Cram, Breckland District Council
Average 2.73 directories per pupil
Prize: recycled fleece + Woodland Trust wine

UK Silver BirchJane Savage, West Devon Council
Average 2.49 directories per pupil
Prize: hedgehog box + Woodland Trust wine

UK Bronze BeechVerity Palk, South Hams District Council
Average 2.30 directories per pupil
Prize: bird box + Woodland Trust wine
