2005


The Yellow Woods Challenge UK Awards 2005 awards were presented to schools that achieved the highest recycling results across the UK, and to three schools that each created fantastic sculptures out of old Yellow Pages directories.

In addition, three recycling officers were honoured for collecting the most directories per pupil; this is calculated as the total number of directories collected in your area divided by the total number of pupils in your Challenge.


The 2005 winners were:

UK Gold OakJessica Whitty, Breckland District Council
Average 2.84 directories per pupil

UK Silver BirchSharon MacKinnon, Waste Aware Western Isles Team, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar
Average 2.80 directories per pupil

UK Bronze BeechJane Savage, West Devon Borough Council
Average 2.64 directories per pupil
