his year, we've increased the chance for more schools to win top cash prizes of up to £1,000!

There are fifteen awards up for grabs in the UK Awards 2008, divided into four main category headings:

UK Recycling Champions - automatic entry

£1,000 will be awarded to one small, one medium and one large school for recycling the highest number of old Yellow Pages directories per pupil in the UK. These awards are based on the Yellow Pages directory recycling results submitted in local Challenges and do not require any application from participating schools.

Please note: this year's category sizes have been updated to make the number of schools in each category more equal:

- Small school 140 or fewer pupils
- Medium school 141 - 240 pupils
- Large school 241 or more pupils

Most Improved School in the UK - automatic entry

£1,000 will be awarded to the school that has achieved the largest increase in its directory recycling rate per pupil since last year's Challenge. This award is based on the Yellow Pages directory recycling results submitted in local Challenges and does not require any application from participating schools.


Big Yellow Pages Art Competition - application required

This competition invites all schools participating in the Yellow Woods Challenge to create any artwork from the old Yellow Pages directories or covers they collect at school.

Please note:
All schools that take part in the Yellow Woods Challenge 2008 are eligible to enter the UK Awards 2009.

Schools may enter more than one award, but may only win one UK Award in 2009.
